This calculator is the BEST for any type of math student from middle school all the way up to college. The best feature of this calculator is its ability to perform matrix calculations and solve systems of equations. It has been really helpful for me when taking math tests as well as in math competitions. I strongly recommend this calculator for any high school sutdent taking higher math, such as Algebra 2, Precalculus, Trig, Calculus, or Statistics. If you're in math club and participate in math competitions, you'd better get this calculator fast!!

The product's descriptions are for EL520VB, a medium-low end past year Sharp offering. Yet the picture shows the image for EL520WBBK, a medium end calculator with 419 functions. Which one is Amazon selling?

OK, so it's a pretty slick leather mouse pad & clock combo. That's handy enough, but it also has a pop-out calculator, which means when I need it, it's right there, and then it's gone till I need it again! Neat work Datexx!!

After many years of relying on my HP graphing calculators (48SX), I had to scale down to a one-line calculator for use in one of my exams. HP sets the standard for engineering calculators. Unfortunately, the graphing calculators are a little too powerful for use in certain exams, since you can almost program them to do the work for you. My professor specified "1 line calculator ONLY" for the final exam. It's actually not that easy to find a good scientific calculator that's only 1-line. Most are 2-line, or graphing.

For a 1-line calculator, especially for the price, this one is perfect. It's not as small as I had envisioned, but that's because of all the features/functions they have to accommodate. And if you're used to using a larger HP scientific calculator, you'll find this one fairly easy to get used to (despite the lack of RPN date entry mode, due to 1-line limitation).

My third grader does well with his times tables, but as any parent knows the goal is for times tables to be cemented in long term memeory. We have flash cards and even a rotating book, but he balked each time I brought them out. This calculator put the controls in his hands and he will voluntarly quiz himself each day. Fun and challenging and at his own pace, I am very happy with this product.

It's a self destructing machine. Buttons that get stuck, display that looses vertical lines.....Don't buy it.

This is a small printing calculator, a decent choice if you want something smaller than the space-hogging large calculators. 4 AA batteries actually come with it. But although it's listed as AC/DC, no cord is supplied. Apparently that's an "extra".

Very powerful calculator. Dizzyingly powerful. Excellent display. Positive click buttons. If you're doing basic algebra, trig, logs, it is very easy to use. I find that when doing more advanced functions, I'm always needing to reference something in the manual to get it done. Sometimes hard to find functions on the keypad, since there are as many as 4 labels per key. SD card works well, but causes about a 2 second delay every time you turn on the calculator, which can be a nuisance when you're in a hurry. I like the very large RPN stack capability, as well as controllable font, where you can show more than just the 6 lines of the stack that it defaults to. Would recommend the 50g to anyone needing a lot of power. I've really only used the 50g in RPN mode, but it will do AOS also.

This is much nicer than comparable Casio's. It's very thin, intuitive to use, and full of functions for the price! Quality seems better than a Casio also, not so 'chunky' with the keys.

It was impossible to insert the paper tape. The inside paper slot is badly designed, it is nearly invisible, the paper is too soft to be pushed into the slot, and there is no room for your fingers to guide the paper tape. Had to return product.

I use this calculator in my algebra classes. My students are able to catch on quickly how to make the keys function in the ways that they want. Graphing is easy and and fun and the students don't even realize how much they are learning.

I would recommend this calculator for any and all classrooms teaching algebra and other higher functioning mathematics classes.

When you're hesitant to go to the expense of a cash register, this is a great calculator for a small retail business - which is exactly why I purchased it. The keys are large, paper roll insertion is easy and the automatic tax calculation key (TAX+) for sales is helpful. The Casio website is also helpful for tech support. I purchased this item used without a manual and needed to know how to set the tax rate. (It was preset to 5% and I needed to change it to 6.5%.) Within a day they emailed me back with step-by-step instructions. If you are also struggling to figure this out and can't find the info on the web (as I couldn't) here are the steps as they provided to me:

1. Set calculator to "print."
2. Press CA.
3. Press SET key for about 3 seconds.
4. Enter tax rate.
5. Press TAX+.
6. Press SET.

By the way, the SET key is the percent key.

Hope this helps!

This calculator works as promised, but it is poorly made. Sometimes the buttons stick down, which causes big problems if you don't notice right away. It's a shame because the functions are good. We bought 3 and they are all the same.

Used this calculator and 3 of it's predecessors for about 25 years. Easy to use, durable, quite a good buy. I would have thought that with what I paid for rush delivery charges, it would have arrived a litte quicker, but I purchased through an off shoot of Amazon.

Got this one for high school after already owning the TI-89. I got this one because it can be used on more tests than the TI-89, but I was spoiled by the TI-89. There are times when I go back to the TI-89 because it can do more kinds of problems.

The hp20s is a well build basic calculator that will last through years of use. It was a low end model when it was introduced by HP and doesn't have RPN or any advanced math features, but what it does have is 99% of what most people need in a handheld calculator in a nice package. HP's and TI's latest lower end models are plastic junk in comparison.

Buy it if you can find one at a decent price...

I was fortunate to have ordered this calculator to complete one of my banking course (Personal Financial Planning) and to date I carry this most important tool with me to work every day. I do the same even when I travel. It is so useful to do Amortisation with just entering a few data and you get all the information you need. It is great for financial planning and budgeting. I would recommend this calculator.

This calculator is easy to use and had good button feel. It does fraction calculations (a great function for students under 5th grader who are just learning about fractions but don't know about decimals). It reduces fractions and also does division with remainders. My daughter uses it to check her math. It is a great little calculator. Also comes with a hard case - good for carrying in the backpack.

I have owned top of the line graphing and scientific calculators from TI, HP, Casio, Sharp, etc. This machine, the Casio FX-2.0PLUS, continues the Casio quality tradition and is definitely put together very well. It is also a very good improvement over its predecessor, the Casio FX-2.0, with a very fine portable design and now with a CAS (Computer Algebra System). The pros and cons as I see it are:

PROS:

1) It has all the standard regular features and also is supplied with a full set of CAS features that we have come to expect on such a machine.

2) The machine itself is reasonably fast with a nice graphical interface and resultant plotting system. The resultant plots are high quality and with the many added features available for enhancement are very intuitive for the learning process.

3) It has a nice, but older style, body design that sits very nicely both on a desk or a table as well as in your hand.

4) It has a large amount of onboard main memory, plus additional Flash memory (See Con below) for tackling quite memory intensive problems.

5) Although it is called a calculator, it is really a small and fast handheld computer system which can tackle problems from the most simple to almost the most complex.

6) It has a very useful user interface system with multiple icons. The calculator functions are all controlled using an Algebraic Operating System (AOS).

CONS:

1) Some functions that you would readily expect to be available with a single key press on the main keyboard require instead multiple key presses, but usually with only a single shifted key press first.

2) Apparently the Flash memory is not extremely well made or of very high quality and can degrade significantly over a period of a couple of years time.

I received the Casio(R) HR-100TEPlus Printing Calculator in a timely manner and was pleased that it was like new as advertised. However, I believe that there was a tiny piece missing, it was a bar or something that goes between the two paper roll supports that the paper roll sits on. I used a piece of an old paint brush and inserted it there and it works just fine. The printer itself is great and one of the main reasons I ordered from this vendor is that he said it had the AC adapter.
